Veteran Service Project aims to improve the health and access to care for the homeless veterans in San Joaquin County by providing health screenings, education, and referrals when appropriate to local healthcare resources. VSP hosts multiple events throughout the year including donation drives, speaker events on the role of military pharmacists and PTSD awareness, and collaborative art projects donated to veteran organizations. Our annual health fair has brought state agencies, including the Veterans Administration, the Department of Motor Vehicles, and the Social Security Department to truly provide homeless veterans the comprehensive resources they need to better their health and improve their lives. At our health fair, the VSP and the external organizations work in collaborative partnership to promote veterans’ mental and physical health and their quality of life through education, advocacy, and service.
