The Bone Mineral Density Committee is a professional association that provides Bone Mineral Density, Anemia, Fall Risk, and Memory Decline screenings at community health fairs. This committee was created in 2012, and is the only committee that is under a National Organization, American Society of Consultant Pharmacists.
Each year, one in every three adults over the age of 65 falls. Falls increases the risk of early death and can cause other severe fractures and injuries. This committee offers a very important service to try to prevent and educate individuals about the risk of falling, osteoporosis, and bone health. There has been recent studies with coorelation between Anemia and Falling, therefore we will be adding a subsequent Anemia screening to further help prevent individuals from falling. Members of this Committee are responsible for White Ribbon Week.
